Location

 Wednesday 04 September

 13:45-15:00

Hotel Riu Plaza España – Madrid 1-3 Rooms

Description

The pervasive influence of AI, notably exemplified by ChatGPT, presents multifaceted challenges across industries, including law. This two-part explorative session will delve into AI and ChatGPT’s influence, from both a non-contentious and a contentious perspective.

In Part I, expert speakers will focus on the concerns around employee monitoring, misuse prevention, and safeguarding confidential information and assets. Both over-reliance and over-scepticism of ChatGPT pose risks from an employer and employee perspective, which leads to challenges, both for corporations and law firms advising them.

Part two will hone in on dispute resolution, including AI and ChatGPT’s role in both the courts and arbitration. Key areas of discussion from our panel of experts will encompass the legal framework and jurisprudence on the use of AI and ChatGPT, the differences between the use of intelligent software in litigation and arbitration and the key benefits and pitfalls of AI, including falsified evidence, data protection and ethical considerations (such as the environmental impact it may have).
