Organised by the T.R.A.D.E. (Trade, Retail, Agency, Distribution, E-commerce) Commission + the Public Procurement Interest Group
Session #9
Wednesday 04 September
17:00-18:15 CEST
“Defense and security” – one of the most dynamic and closely watched sectors in recent years, with national and international regulations constantly changing.
It is time, then, to look back at the past few years and share the best practices we have learned and the mistakes not to repeat!
From the joint-venture set-up to the drafting and execution of commercial contracts, defense and security companies are subject to several special rules mainly involving government procurement (e.g.: special export authorizations) and commercial distribution contracts (e.g.: government restrictions on sales, parallel import rules, IP protection) topics.
The Public Procurement Interest Group and T.R.A.D.E. Commission have, then, joined forces in this panel to address the hottest topics in the sector. With speakers from different jurisdictions, we will have the opportunity to discuss together how best to advise JV partners (often from different countries) operating in the sector, such as: what is the “best” way to participate in a public procurement, as a consortium or as a lead and subcontractor? How best to distribute IP rights among the different JV partners and license them to buyers? Are you ready to deal with the “culture shock” of specific national regulations and implement them in your supply chain? How to carry out a “sustainability” audit in your supply chain?
Join the session to hear from experienced practitioners about their best practices and share yours!
